Cinnamon rolls are definitely among the world’s most popular desserts, but there’s a catch – they’re full of calories and not exactly ideal if you’re trying to maintain or lose weight. Millions of people love them, but avoid as they believe the dessert will make them gain weight and they’re right. But, what if there’s a healthier version of cinnamon rolls which you can eat as much as you like without fearing weight gain?


The cinnamon rolls we have for you today taste just as great as the original and won’t make you gain weight. They’re vegan and delicious, and contain only natural ingredients. Did we mention they’re easy to prepare as well? Just follow the instructions below!


A cup of almond milk

1 package of instant yeast

½ a cup of Earth balance

¼ cup of salt

¼ cup of cane sugar

1 ½ teaspoon of powdered cinnamon

3 cups of flour


Heat the almond milk and Earth balance in a pan, but don’t let them boil. Leave the mixture to cool down to bath water temperature (approximately 43C), then pour it in a bowl and add the yeast. Leave it for 10 minutes, then add the cane sugar and salt and stir well.

Now, add the flour while stirring, then transfer the dough to a flat surface and knead well. Now, sprinkle some canola oil in the bowl and put the dough back in, then cover with plastic wrap and leave the dough to rise in a warm area for an hour or so.


Roll it out next on a flat surface next, then brush with about 3 tablespoons of Earth balance, ¼ cup of cane sugar and ½ a tablespoon of cinnamon. Roll the dough up, then cut it with a sharp knife in 1,5-2 inch sections and put it in an 8×8 inch square pan. Brush the pieces with some Earth balance and cover with plastic wrap while you preheat the oven at 350F. Bake the cinnamon rolls for up to a half an hour then let them cool down and serve.
