Ginger is an ancient remedy against a variety of ailments, with even science confirming its powerful effects. The root can boost your energy levels and improve your immune system, while having a positive effect on your overall health.
Adding ginger in your diet is simpler than you think – all you need to do is a thumb-sized piece to your smoothies or stews, or even better, drinking a few cups of ginger tea. Additionally, you can also prepare homemade ginger syrup and take it every morning on an empty stomach. Here’s how to prepare ginger syrup and tea:
¾ cup of sliced ginger
A cup of sugar
A cup of water
Add the ginger and sugar in a cup of water and bring the mixture to a boil, then simmer it for about 30 minutes on low heat, stirring while the sugar is dissolved. Now, leave the syrup to cool down before straining it, then pour it in a bottle and keep it in the fridge.
4 tablespoons of grated ginger
½ a teaspoon of turmeric
2 cups of water
1-2 tablespoons of honey
Boil the ginger in water for about 30 minutes, then leave the tea to cool down. Strain it afterwards, then add the honey and squeeze half a lemon in. Drink a couple of cups of ginger tea every day to strengthen your immune system and give your health a boost.
